Yelena Globina, M.D., M.P.H.

      Dr Globina is an Occupational & Environmental Medicine physician with a unique background in Neurology and General Preventive Medicine – Public Health.  She has over 10 years of clinical experience since graduating from Stony Brook University School of Medicine (Class of 2005).  Since working at the Mount Sinai Medical Center, Dr. Globina has dedicated herself to the health and justice for the 9/11 WTC rescue and recovery workers.  Dr. Globina has certified WTC workers in various approved health conditions, including cancers that resulted from WTC exposure. 

      Dr. Globina believes in keeping all workers healthy.  She is committed to restoring their health from occupational injuries and illness as quickly as possible.  Dr. Globina’s clinical experience in Occupational & Environmental Medicine includes evaluations of various chemical and biological exposures and disease outcomes, musculoskeletal injuries, DOT physicals, pre-placement and fitness for duty exams, workers compensation evaluations and treatment, impairment rating, medical screening and surveillance programs.  

      Dr. Globina also performs disability evaluations, independent medical examinations and has a lot of experience in Workers Compensation depositions.   She possesses strong communication and writing skills.  Dr. Globina co-authored five publications including four that dealt with the health effects of 9/11 attacks. 

      Dr. Globina enjoys teaching and mentoring medical students and residents, and is frequently invited to give lectures for students of public health and medical residents.  She is a voluntary faculty member at the Mount Sinai School of Medicine
